The Reconodo is an SHD-I with a few additions to better suit it to field conditions. The cadre at Tremis Dynamics were looking for a single holster that could be worn IWB, either Appendix or 3/4 o'clock in a garrison setting, and also be placed in field gear. Not every situation requires a warbelt with a drop-leg holster. Those guys are regularly rucking through the woods with packs that have waist belts that prohibit any standard holster setup. We looked at what they were doing and came up with a bit more elegant solution.
We took the SHD-I and upscaled the DCC clip to a 1.75" to better fit Riggers belts and the like. We then added some strategic Velcro to let it secure in a mag pouch. There are two one-wrap straps that allow the holster to be secured to a single/double/triple mag pouch that has a Velcro flap closure. We then added laser-cut Velcro to the DCC clip so the pouch flap would still work the same as it does when there are mags in that pouch.
If the pouch doesn't have a flap but is open-top with MOLLE on the outside, the DCC clip grabs the MOLLE like it does a belt when worn IWB.
We add loop Velcro directly to the Kydex to keep the one-wrap straps tidy when wearing it IWB. We've also added a Wigglyjig so it can be worn off-body and tied down in a fanny pack, HPG Kitbag, or similar.
The guys have been testing it for a while now. They have run it often with a surplus mag pouch on the waistbelt of their rucksacks, and when they strip the rucksacks off for the night, they just remove the holster and put it on like a normal EDC holster. No need to carry an extra holster in your rucksack; dig it out and reverse the process later. Just move the holster with the pistol in it back and forth as needed. But you can also wear it directly on the cummerbund of your PC or on the end of a chest rig, and switch it back to carrying mags in under 10 seconds. No need to dedicate that area to either mags or a pistol.
All one-wrap straps will be Coyote Brown. OD Holsters will have OD Loop. Ranger Green Holsters will have Coyote Velcro just like Ranger Green is supposed to. FDE holsters will have Coyote Velcro. Custom Shop Holsters will have color-matched Velcro as available.
